It had absolutely zero concern with my presence, and proceeded to stroll almost directly beside me. I typically eschew capturing wildlife in tight crops of this sort, but this moment was unique. This capture isn’t actually cropped at all—this is the original capture, which reveals just how close this heron came to me.”
