“I suppose that at times I can be quite stubborn, and this can even extend into my artistic pursuits. Most every time I head out in search of something to observe, I am hoping for beautiful light. I don’t just hope for it, but I actively plan on my positions, angles, etc.
“However, oftentimes I am pleasantly reminded of the detriment that such steadfastness can produce. How arrogant must I be to think that my ideas and plans are perfect and ideal?
“This particular morning, I was of course walking the beach in hopes that the lingering sea fog would lift and expose the rising sun’s rays. Thankfully, my frustration was replaced with amazement as I witnessed this sanderling in front of a never-to-be-repeated silky-smooth ombre color palette. The lifting fog meshed into pale blues, which were contrasted by the sugar-white sand that we all love.
"This was a once-in-a-lifetime moment that will never be repeated."
