"There’s nothing like a new day being ushered in with the warm, colorful rays of the sun. This is particularly true along Florida’s beautiful gulf coast beaches.
"Everything about this moment seemed to symbolize the awakening of a new day. The sky is just beginning to be illuminated in warm yellows and oranges. The gulf’s waters are mostly calm with minimal waves. This young great blue heron is enjoying somewhat of an awakening of its own—not yet fully mature—and still learning how to thrive. It approaches the surf in search of its first meal of the day."
