"I was cruising the waters of a freshwater swamp in southern Florida, specifically searching for barred owls. When I located this one perfectly framed by Spanish moss and cypress branches, I knew I was being treated to something very special.
"I also knew that if I was willing to be patient, a capture of the owl leaping into flight would be more than worth the wait. So, the wait ensued, and eventually, the barred owl cooperated.
